Ingredients for two pizzas of 28cm:
- Water 300 ml
- Wheat flour 300 gr
- Manitoba flour 200 gr
- Sault 10 gr
- Oil 30 gr
- Yeast 5 gr
- Tomato sauce about 225gr
- Mozzarella 1 Bag
- Extra virgin oil for seasoning
- Basil/paprika/parsil/sesam seeds/other seasoning of your choice one teaspoon
- Cherry tomatoes 10/12
- A few basil leaves
Pour all the water into a bowl with the yeast and stir it well until the yeast is completely dissolved.
Mix the two flours in another bowl and add half of water. Sir well and then add salt, oil, seasoning and the remaining water. Work the ingredients with your fingers to create a ball.
Leave the dough inside the bowl for around 2 hours in a warm spot to make it rise. After that, take the dough and put it onto a cutting board. Sprinkle some flour and start spreading it out with a rolling pin until it’s around 28 cm in diameter. With the help of your fingers, give the dough a round shape. Use a knife to help you if necessary.
Warm the tomato sauce on the hob with salt, a bit of oil and a few basil leaves for a few minutes then add the sauce to the pizza with the help of a spoon.
Cut half mozzarella in small pieces and them to the pizza. Then wash and cut the cherry tomatoes in half and add them on top of the mozzarella.
Bake the pizza in the oven in a buttered baking tray for around 12/14 minutes at 240 C or until the mozzarella melts and the base becomes light brown. Let it cool on a grill for a few minutes before serving and add a teaspoon of virgin oil and a few basil leaves to garnish. Enjoy your delicious handmade Margherita pizza 😊🍕
